Accessibility Statement
Last updated: July 2026
We want everyone — including people who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or need larger text and stronger contrast — to be able to visit this site, understand what we offer, and book Their Story Session without a fight. This page is a plain account of where things stand, not a box we're ticking.
Our Target
We're working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the widely recognised benchmark for an accessible website. We haven't fully reached it yet, and we'd rather tell you that plainly than let a page like this one quietly imply otherwise.
Where We Are Right Now
In July 2026 we ran a full automated accessibility scan across every public page of this site — the kind of tooling that checks things like colour contrast, form labels, and keyboard navigation against the WCAG standard. It turned up a list of real issues, mostly text that's a little too faint against our black background in a few places, and one bigger one: the tribute videos themselves don't yet have a way to turn on captions. We're not going to pretend that one's minor — for anyone who's Deaf, hard of hearing, or just watching with the sound off, that matters, and it's the first thing on our list to solve properly rather than patch.
Every item from that scan is written up in plain language, and we're working through it deliberately — checking each fix by hand rather than batch-applying automated changes to a site that people are visiting to grieve on. Some of what we find touches our gold-and-black look, which we treat as a considered decision, not just a colour swap. This statement will keep being updated as that work moves forward, not just written once and left to go stale.
What We've Already Got Right
The site was built with a few accessibility basics in place from the start: a skip-to-content link on every page, descriptive labels on navigation and buttons for screen readers, and no images missing the text descriptions that make them make sense without sight. It's not the whole job, but it's a real foundation, not a blank page.
If Something Isn't Working for You
If any part of this site or your tribute video gets in your way — a page that's hard to read, a control that won't respond to your keyboard, anything at all — please tell us. You don't need to know the technical name for the problem; just describe what happened and we'll take it from there.
Email us at tributes@revivalmedia.au. We'll acknowledge your message promptly and get back to you as quickly as we can with a real answer — not just a receipt.
