Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Revival Media ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used when you interact with our website or engage our services.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of personal information:

  • Name, email address, and phone number provided via our booking or contact forms
  • Photos, videos, and other materials you supply to us for the purpose of creating a tribute
  • Basic usage data collected automatically (e.g. browser type, pages visited) via analytics tools
  • General activity from your visit (such as which pages you viewed), used only to measure our advertising where you’ve agreed to it — see “Cookies & Online Advertising” below

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to deliver the services you have requested, including:

  • Scheduling and conducting Their Story Session
  • Creating your personalised tribute video
  • Communicating with you about your order
  • Sending your completed files and any physical keepsake

We do not sell or rent your personal information. The only marketing-related sharing we do is through the Meta advertising tool described under “Cookies & Online Advertising” below — and only where you’ve agreed to it, or, in places that allow it, where you haven’t opted out. We never share your photos, your tribute materials, health information, or anything about your loss for advertising.

How We Bring Photos to Life

Part of what we do is craftsmanship — restoring an old photo, adding gentle motion to a still image so it feels alive again. To do this by hand, at the pace and quality we promise, we use a small number of AI-assisted tools alongside our own editing: to colourise and upscale faded or damaged photos, and to generate short animated video clips from the photos you share. These tools never work unsupervised. Every photo is reviewed by Ryan or a member of our team during or after Their Story Session, and every AI-assisted result is checked, directed, and approved by a person before it becomes part of your tribute — nothing goes out that we haven’t looked at ourselves.

Your Photos and Personal Materials

All photos, videos, and personal documents you share with us are treated with the highest level of confidentiality. Your materials are used exclusively to produce your tribute. We retain them for a period of 30 days following delivery, after which they may be permanently deleted.

Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Communication is conducted via encrypted channels where possible.

Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted third-party tools to operate our business (e.g. email delivery, scheduling). These providers are only given the minimum information necessary to perform their function and are bound by their own privacy obligations. Because some of these tools are based overseas, a small amount of your information is handled outside Australia — here’s exactly where, in plain terms.

Your tribute photos and videos — the most personal thing you share with us — are stored on Cloudflare’s servers based in Oceania, so this material stays close to home rather than travelling overseas. The record of your booking and order details (names, dates, appointment times) is held on a database hosted in South Korea. The workflow tool that quietly runs things behind the scenes — sending you confirmation emails, keeping our calendar in sync — is hosted in Germany. And the specialist tools that help us colourise, upscale, and animate your photos (the AI-assisted craftsmanship described above), along with the service that delivers our emails to your inbox, are operated by providers based in the United States. In every case, we send only what each tool needs to do its specific job — never more.

Your Rights

Under Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal requirements)

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at tributes@revivalmedia.au.

How to Make a Complaint

If something doesn’t feel right — about your privacy, your photos, or how we’ve handled your information — we want to know. You won’t be a bother, and you don’t need to have all the details sorted before you reach out.

To make a complaint, email us at tributes@revivalmedia.au with as much detail as you’re able to share. We’ll acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to investigate and respond within 30 days. If we need longer, we’ll tell you why and keep you updated.

If you’re not satisfied with our response, or feel it hasn’t been resolved, you can escalate your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), the independent body that oversees privacy in Australia, at oaic.gov.au.

Cookies & Online Advertising

Like most websites, we use cookies — small files saved in your browser — to keep things working smoothly and to see how the site is used. We also use a tool from Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram) to understand whether our advertising is reaching the families who need us.

We also record anonymous information about items added to your cart and whether a cart led to a booking, to understand how our service is used. This measurement is first-party, uses a random identifier (no name, email, or other personal details), and runs only where you have allowed analytics cookies (and never where Global Privacy Control is enabled). You can change your choice anytime via “Cookie settings” in the footer.

What this means

When it’s active, this tool notes general activity — such as which pages you visited — and shares it with Meta so we can see how our ads are doing. Meta is based in the United States, so that information is handled there. We never share your photos, your tribute materials, or anything about your loss.

You’re in control

  • In Europe and the UK, nothing is shared until you choose “Accept” on our cookie notice.
  • In Australia, the United States and elsewhere, it’s on by default and you can turn it off whenever you like.
  • Change your choice any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of the page, your browser settings, or your Meta ad preferences.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version will always be available on this page. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
